I’ve had the itch to do some home improvements lately and for a while now I’ve wanted to redo my kitchen, I’m sick of the tape aka stripe walls (see my kitchen make over here if you haven’t seen it before) I have never liked the cabinets since the day I bought the house and I’ve finally decided on the back-splash and somewhat decided what I want for the counters!
The new back-splash will be matchstick marble as shown below: (click on the photo to go to “The Social Home” site for more information on her beautiful kitchen transformation)
I am so in love with Bianca Quartzite for the counters this stone is just gorgeous! I was going to do marble until I came across this stone! I haven’t decided 100% yet on the counters, right now it will be one of the following, bianca quartzite, marble or solid white quartz.
And the cabinets, well I’ve been leaning towards painting them greige (a cross between grey and beige/taupe) similar to this kitchen (isn’t this kitchen just beautiful!!)
So what does the kitchen design have to do with a Mirror? Nothing really, it was while researching what I wanted for my kitchen that I came across a gorgeous mirror I just had to have! I ordered this mirror last night and should have it in 5 to 8 biz days I so can’t wait! It’s 36″ wide, the mirror is 12″.
I will be putting this mirror in my living room after I repaint the walls. They are currently SW Softer Tan with a cream color on the wainscot, I plan on repainting the upper walls in a greige and the wainscot in bright white. You can see my living room here for those who have not seen it yet.
I’ve decided to change the living room up a bit, I will be painting my cane chair black and reupholstering the fabric, white fabric on the front of the chair and white and black pattern on the back of the chair. I will be adding in an area rug in a Moroccan pattern, adding new pillows to the couch and adding a gallery wall (wait until you see the inspiration room for my living room redo, if you are like me you will drool when you see this room!!).
