Dio Craftsman Style Bathroom

Cost:
         $24.00 for paint
         $90.00 for light fixture
         $120.00 for new faucet

         $20.00 for a new shower light

Supplies:
         Paint (Sherwin-Williams Harmony; 1 gallon Macadamia (in eg-shel finish)
         New baseboards
         Wood fill (for nail holes)
          Paintable Calking (to fill in the gaps between the baseboard and wall)
          New hardware

Tools:
         Paint tray, brushes and rollers (drop cloths if your messy)
         Power Drill
         Hammer
         Table saw (to cut the baseboards)
         Electric tape

Action plan:
         Paint the walls Sherwin-Williams Harmony paint, color is Macadamia.
         Install the new light fixtures, hardware & mirror
         Install new faucet, towel racks and paper holder

Still To Do:
         Undecided if I will stain the vanity to match the mirror.
         Put new door knob and hinges on the door
         Add a window to the bathroom and remove the current tub/shower unit and
         add a new tub with marble tiles on the walls.
         Install a new toilet

Inspiration:
         My inspiration for this room come from walking down the faucet isle at HD. I saw that faucet and had
         to design my bathroom around it. From there I found a light fixture in the aged bronze and hardware that
         matched it the faucet. I also decided to put a nicer shower fan/light up. Chose the paint and I was ready to go.

Process:
        I started out by painting the whole bathroom in Sherwin-Williams Macadamia. Installed both light fixtures
        and faucet. Then put up the new baseboards, hardware and hung the mirror. The mirror was originally
        a goldish color, I painted it brown then stained it, I had the mirror from my previous home so I saved some
        money by recycling it.

**Update April 2010: I decided to redo this bathroom (redo not demolish! Gutting it will be done in the distant future!)
        I repainted the upper walls in Sherwin Williams Sea Salt and installed craftsman style wainscot on the lower walls! One
        more coat of white semi gloss paint to do and install the rail cap and the wainscot will be finished. I also purchased a new
        white waffle weave shower curtain and bronze hardware. I still have to purchase and install a tilting mirror. Will post
        more photos as I progress!! I also have to repaint the ceiling hopefully this bathroom will be completed this week!

The previous owners painted this bathroom a light purple, it also had rubber baseboards and 2 outdated light fixtures.

I originally painted this bathroom taupe but have since repainted check back for updated photos.

Future Plans

I hope to replace the fiberglass tub/surround with a new tub, tiled walls (unsure if I will go with natural stone or subway tiles), I also want a reverse bath style glass door (see photos below) and I want a stained glass window put in the back shower wall. This bathroom does not have a window and the only place one can go is in the shower area. I'm toying with the idea of doing craftsman style wainscot in this bathroom or maybe beadboard like I used in the upstairs bathroom. I'd love a new vanity as well but I should have thought about that before having the hardwood floors installed so at this point my only option is to work with what I have, if I install wainscot then the cabinet will be painted out to match the wainscot. I'm getting tired of the shower curtain I am currently using, I can't wait to have this bathroom done, before then I may end up changing out the shower curtain to white especially if I do indeed install some sort of wainscot. I'm also considering repainting the bathroom to blue or a similar wall color shown in the bottom photo below.
