For those who don’t know me you should know I am not a very patient person 😉 I get so excited to start a project sometimes I don’t think it all the way through and I end up having to “wing it” other times I forget to take decent before photos such is the case here! Can you imagine I didn’t intentionally take before photos of this wall in my kitchen? I did find a few photos of the area, although the photos were really of the arch door frame in my dining room and the quality is very poor but you can at least get a glimpse of this wall in the kitchen for the before. 🙂 The placement of the baskets were intentional, one – to get the clutter off the kitchen counters, dogs leash in one and mail in the other, two – they are positioned where they are to hide the old wall phone jack!
I should mention I’m in the middle of a whole kitchen renovation! So far the walls have been done (that was a nightmare you can read more about how I had to skim coat all the walls after taking down the strips of tape that I used instead of wallpaper) and then the first paint color I chose did not look how I expected so I had to repaint the walls, read more about the wall fiasco here.
Here’s a photo of what happened when I took the strips of tape off the walls, this was the reason for having to skim coat all the walls! Did I mention I’m not a patient person that weekend was a lot of fun instead of a one day project to paint walls, the walls took me two full weekends!
Next projects I did were the board & batten then the DIY air return vent and the plumbers pipe bench
I also started adding height and molding to the kitchen cabinets which I plan on working more on this weekend. Once the cabinets are done (I have all the upper cabinets now up to the ceiling with the crown molding etc but I want to add more molding on the cabinets) then I will be adding a refrigerator surround, a new marble back splash and a new counter then some other fun things that I am keeping a surprise!
But for now I’d say this one wall before and after is pretty impressive, every time I look at a before photo of my kitchen I cringe and ask myself what were you thinking?!

I hear ya on the excitement for projects. Instead we usually have a great idea and get to it, forgetting to take progress shots. That or the beau is so motivated he gets things done when I’m gone without any photo evidence haha!

Dria, I can’t even begin to tell you how much more I like this plumber bench and board and batten look than your previous wall!!! It looks absolutely incredible! It honestly looks magazine-worthy! I love the baskets on there – it’s the perfect finishing touch – and bonus – they’re functional!
